Online Cooking Class - Book Club Dinner Party

Enjoy a dinner party menu inspired by "Julie & Julia" and "Under the Tuscan Sun."

In this hands-on class with Chef Chris, you will learn how to prepare a gourmet book club dinner party menu inspired by the French recipes featured in "Julie & Julia" as well as the Italian dishes found in "Under the Tuscan Sun."

Chef Chris will begin by teaching you how to prepare Frances Mayes' charred eggplant involtini and roasted tomato and rosemary sauce. Then, you will learn how to recreate Julia Child's raspberry coulis with brandy and orange Bavarian cream for dessert.

Chris was a real treat. He’s a humble and extremely knowledgeable teacher who, you can tell, really loves his craft. Yes, the food was amazing, but we really just enjoyed peppering him with questions around the “why” we used certain ingredients or prepped foods in certain ways. He knows much of the history and culture behind the recipes and how specific ingredients or preparations add to the success of the dish. This was a very enjoyable anniversary gift for my wife and I.
