Cooking Class - 4-Day Foodie Fun Kids: Bakery 101

What You’ll Do

Join a 3-day baking journey, giving budding bakers practical skills and hands-on experience.

Looking for a fun class for your mini baker - then this 4-day cooking series bakery course is all you knead. Designed for kids aged 7-11, these summer cooking classes will teach up-and-coming cooks various baking techniques and essential kitchen skills. Students will make batter to turn into crispy crêpes, knead dough, and practice baking and decorating cakes, all in a fun kitchen environment under the instruction of an experienced chef. At the end of the time, each little chef will receive a certificate to take home too.

Classes typically run for two to two and a half hours, unless specified otherwise. Group work is a key component; kids can expect to collaborate with four other students. The class involves standing, cooking and active participation throughout. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required and long hair should be securely tied back for safety. Please note that these are drop-off classes. Parents do not stay during the classes.

Disappointing. Not participatory. A lot of standing around, watching, not doing. No control over class. Nowhere near as good as paella class I took. I actually left.

We were very excited to learn how to make ramen from scratch last week. However sadly we were very disappointed. The menu stated we would learn how to make ramen noodles, the pork belly, pickled mushrooms, the perfect ramen egg, edamame with chilli salt and a Japanese mint soda. However the only thing we physically did ourselves was make the noodles - which was a cool experience for sure, but then everything else was prepared for us and we were just given everything as a finished product! And we didn’t get to make the mint soda at all. The whole class was highly unorganised and it felt like we just spent $90 for a recipe that we didn’t fully learn from in the first place
