Cooking Class - 5-Day Foodie Kids: Beginners Bakery

What You’ll Do

Enrich a child's desire to bake and teach confidence in the kitchen.

A cooking series focused on baking for kids aged 7-11. During the five-day program, your child will learn baking basics while having fun in the kitchen. Each day, they prepare a different meal focusing on either sweet or savory baking. These summer cooking classes teach essential cooking techniques, basic food preparation skills and kitchen safety practices. On the last day, they will put their knowledge to the test with a fun challenge, recreating a recipe based on a picture! Each student will receive their own menu and a graduation certificate.

Classes typically run for two to two and a half hours, unless specified otherwise. Group work is a key component; kids can expect to collaborate with four other students. The class involves standing, cooking and active participation throughout. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required and long hair should be securely tied back for safety. Please note that these are drop-off classes. Parents do not stay during the classes.

Great experience with Chef Katy. Learned so much that I’m excited to take into my own bread making experience.

Great job controlling everything, but, baked potatoes were cold and the butter didn’t melt. We cooked the shrimp first and it sat until the end of the class. We thought the shrimp cocktail was going to be an appetizer. Over all it was a fun experience! I hope we get the recipes soon.
