What You'll Do

Learn essential knife techniques while preparing a seasonal gourmet menu from scratch.

Get comfortable with your chef’s knife in this engaging cooking class led by Chef Karen. You’ll learn how to hold your knife properly, keep it sharp and master key techniques like slicing, Julienne and brunoise cuts, all while prepping ingredients for a seasonal feast.

You’ll also practice mincing herbs, working with leeks and applying your techniques to a complete meal. Start with crispy garlic mussels in buttered crumbs, then braise tender chicken with sweet onions. Enjoy roasted vegetables tossed in pomegranate molasses dressing alongside a fragrant herbed rice pilaf. Dessert is a surprise—crafted to let your new knife skills shine. Come for the technique, stay for the flavor!

My friend and I took the French Bistro cooking class and had such a great experience. The class was fun, engaging, and very easy to follow thanks to the chefs, who were patient, helpful, and made the atmosphere enjoyable throughout the evening. The class was set for four people, and each pair participated in preparing different parts of the five-course meal, including a caramelized onion and tomato tarte tatin, bavette steak with mushrooms and red wine pan sauce, roasted smashed baby potatoes, French bistro salad, and a French soufflé. After cooking, each group shared the steps they took to prepare their dish, which made the experience interactive and educational. The ingredients were high quality, the BYOB option was a fun touch, and overall it felt like such a unique and memorable experience. I would absolutely love to take another class here every few months to continue learning from such talented professionals.
