Cooking Class - Vegetarian Pasta Making 101

Get hands-on in an Italian kitchen, preparing an array of vegetarian-focused dishes.
Master techniques used across Italy for perfect handmade pasta and savory accompaniments guided by Chef Ekta. In this cooking class, you'll get a chance to knead, roll and flavor all your pasta creations with vegetarian-friendly options.
Get comfortable in the kitchen by mixing a classic Italian salad to start: Panzanella with bread and tomatoes. Next, use your homemade pasta dough to make, stuff and seal ravioli with ricotta and spinach and a butter-sage sauce, and craft fettuccine to serve in homemade sauce. For dessert, creamy panna cotta with fruit compote.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Had a great class with Ekta, she was so encouraging and made the cooking so much fun. Her place was really cosy and made us feel really at home during the entire class. The food was delicious, and she provided take home recipes so we could recreate the meal at home!

It was a fabulous experience - while we were in Chef Ekta's home, it was very professional, yet warm and welcoming. While I'm not a professional chef, I've been cooking for a long time and have taken a few classes, but I learned more than a few things from Chef Ekta that I never knew and better still, got to try, and as a result, I'm much more confident in my ability to be a little more adventurous. Ekta was incredibly patient, and did a great job making sure we got to be totally hands on, especially with points in the cooking process where consistency/texture changes were happening so we could actually understand how to do everything and monitor properly. It was a wonderful and filling afternoon!!
Meet your chef
India-born Chef Ekta made her way to Canada in an ongoing culinary adventure. She's built a career in food, working at reputable bakeries and cafés in the Toronto area. She has also partnered with luxury brands, hosting workshops and pop-ups in India, and has shared her talents at Toronto farmers' markets. After perfecting her baking sessions for in-person and virtual settings, Chef Ekta has expanded her audience to include a new wave of home chefs.
