What You’ll Do

Take your team building activities in a sweet new direction with this festive seasonal duel.

Your group will get a taste of a fun, friendly rivalry in this holiday-themed cookie decorating class with Chef Mike. He'll bring the fun to you and set you up for a battle of the cookies where only the best desserts claim sweet victory.

After learning how to make decadent hot cocoa from scratch, you'll break into smaller teams to work together on transforming gingerbread cookies and sugar cookies into beautiful works of edible holiday art. Using royal icing, each group will decorate their cookies and present them on a festive cookie board to see who is crowned the winner!

Guests are welcome to provide wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Your Menu

All necessary utensils will be provided by the chef. The venue is required to have access to sinks nearby, tables set-up to prep and garbage containers. Chefs are able to arrive a minimum of 30 minutes in advance.

Chef Mike has experience concocting a wide range of ethnic cuisines, including Thai, Indian and Ethiopian options. For the past five years, he has led a variety of cooking workshops, but his specialty lies in crafting ethnic plant-based dishes. Chef Mike has worked in corporate test kitchens for Walmart and Campbells, and he even worked as an on-call assistant to the chef of the Canadian Prime Minister. He is eager to impart his worldly knowledge unto aspiring chefs.

Mike was fantastic! First time doing this and would definitely do it again! Great food, super professional and FUN. The gluten free flatbread was so tasty and a big hit. We had a great time at the Ethiopian cooking class at Chef Mike's place! It was professional but friendly and homey. We learned a lot, as Chef Mike anwered all of our questions and provided great cooking tips from his many years of experience and knowledge. The food was excellent and we feel confident we can recreate these dishes in our own home. The company of other classmates was delightful and overall it was a great night. We look forward to trying another class for another special occasion.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our cooking class with Chef Mike. We learned a lot from Mike he is very knowledgeable about all aspects of food, from preparation to how it benefits your gut health. He has a great sense of humour and his ability to juggle questions, multiple recipes and dishes at the same time was impressive. The dishes that we prepared were excellent in flavour, quality and quantity. Would definitely recommend.

This was such a fun and delicious night! We learned so many cooking tips from Mike and enjoyed sharing the space and experience with another couple. We chose the vegan Indian dinner and it did not disappoint! I can't wait to try the recipes out. We'll definitely book again with Mike - he's entertaining and fun to watch. What a great time!

Chef Mike was FANTASTIC! He was so welcoming and knowledgable, and the meal that he prepared for us was incredible! He shared all sorts of tips and trick for vegan and gluten free cooking and baking, as well as just general tips for things like roasting veggies. I booked this class for my boyfriend’s birthday and we both loved it so much! Chef Mike was incredibly warm and welcoming and he created such a lovely experience for the both of us. He is so professional and shared many great cooking tips and lots of cool stories from his impressive career. The food was to die for!! Every dish was so delicious and we can’t wait to recreate the dishes at home. My boyfriend is not normally a plant based eater, and he raved about the food. We were so impressed by the whole experience and highly recommend it to everyone who loves great food!!

Unbelievable experience with Chef Mike. The quality of the food was amazing and left us wanting more, which is saying something considering he prepared an absolute feast for us! The explanation of everything was thoroughly explained and Chef Mike had no hesitation in answering the many questions we asked of him and did so in such a simplistic manner. A lovely welcoming environment in which the conversation flowed and we felt like we were simply in the company of a friend, except the friend has just prepared us one of the best meals we have ever had! Looking forward to another experience with Chef Mike and will be recommending him to all my friends.

We had a great time with Chef Mike! On top of learning easy recipes (though it might have been because he was helping), the food was so good we were scrapping the plates clean.
