We enjoyed a wonderful French cooking class with a Chef Mathieu.
The menu included French Onion Soup, Beef Bourguignon, and a custard fruit tart, all of which were incredibly flavourful and gave a good representation of French cooking technique and flavour.
Mathieu was very personable, and it was clear that not only did he have the knowledge about the cooking techniques, but also understood how to share them at a level that was understandable to all.
We enjoyed the collaborative nature of the class and the ability to be involved in various aspects of the preparation of all components of the meal. The knowledge shared could definitely be translated into at-home practice.

My boyfriend and I took the Regional French cooking class and had a 10/10 time. Chef Mat is a fantastic chef and teacher and would highly recommend one of his classes. It was so fun and informative and the food was, of course delicious. Great for a date night or with friends! Thanks again Mat!

Chef Mat was awesome, I couldn’t recommend him enough! My partner and I had a great experience one New Year’s Day learning the foundational skills and techniques of French cooking. With his experience, knowledge and friendly approach, cooking the meal was secondary to the fun we had. We will definitely be looking to do more in the future!

Chef Mathieu was welcoming, kind, and knowledgeable. He met us at our skill level (I'm a novice and my mom is more experienced) and gave us tips to be more proficient in our own kitchens. Chef Mathieu also accounted for our dietary restrictions. Taking home the leftovers was a bonus.

This was an amazing experience. MATHIEU is your guy! Highly recommend his teaching style. We left confident with new skills and tips to make an exquisite and elevated 4 course meal. We joined Chef Mat for an evening of Mexican cooking and had a great time! The tasks were split evenly among all the participants (our group of 4, and another solo attendee) and Mat was great at floating between all the tasks, guiding, supporting, and teaching. His expertise shined throughout the night and we had a spectacular meal with it!

Cooked Mexican food and learned everything from how to identify flavour profiles for a good sauce to good knife holding technique (you think you've been doing it right your whole life but you're probably not).
Chef Mathieu is chill, easy to talk to, and his home is spatious! Lots of room for everyone to do their tasks. Then you all sit down together and eat what you made. Overall a great experience, I would recommend it.

I went to this class solo as a present for Christmas. Chef Mathieu was very knowledgeable on cooking and cooking skills. Taught us basic kitchen skills and more. He was very engaging and funny which made it more welcoming. I would definitely do another one of his classes

Chef Mathieu is a comic posed as a teacher but manages to do both perfectly. I went to this event with my partner and from the initial greeting at the door, I knew it was going to be a great night. He is a wealth of knowledge and shows you real home-cooking tips from beginners to advanced. Also, his past life as a comic really shines through with his sharp wit that had the entire group dying of laughter many times. We cooked a fantastic 4-course Mexican meal from home-made salsa and churros to tostadas and chili-based chicken. The meals were prepared from scratch, nothing was pre-made which is my favourite part of the night, it really felt like you could replicate this meal at home. If you are on the fence about booking Chef Mat, I would highly recommend going forward to have a night you won't forget anytime soon. Thank you Chef Mat!

We did a team building cooking class with Chef Mathieu and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the class. We learned several new techniques that we can bring to our own home kitchens, the class was very hands on and interactive, and the food that we cooked was really delicious. We had the absolute pleasure of spending the evening with Chef Mathieu, who welcomed us into his kitchen and guided us through the art of Mexican cooking. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, engaging, and full of energy.
He was a fantastic teacher and host. We learned to prepare everything from handmade tortillas to flavorful salsas, and of course, classic favorites like churros.

Chef Mat was just the kind of person you hope to get when you sign up for a class like this - talented, knowledgeable, personable, professional. He reads the room and elevates the vibe with humour, sharing his own stories, a great playlist etc. He facilitated the group so that everyone could try doing a bit of everything, and gave some great, practical tips for us to use at home. The food itself was excellent, and the menu was very thoughtful - it felt elegant and special, but was actually very simple and easy to replicate again on our own, which was appreciated. HIghly recommended this class, it was a super fun way to spend a Friday night!

Chef Mat was awesome! My fiancé and I had such a fun time chatting, learning, and getting our hands dirty. Mat was great at making cooking feel like it can be accessible to everyone (no pasta machine or fancy equipment necessary) and he had great tips for beginner cooks like us. I'm definitely less intimated to make fresh pasta and more complex dishes on my own now. He was very timely and efficient with the prep work! This is a perfect date night activity or any occasion to have a delicious meal and learn how to make it.

We enjoyed this class very much! Chef Matt is a great teacher! He showed us how and then let us do the work. He gave us so many tips and techniques that we’ll be able to use at home to make meal prep easier and he explained why these techniques work. My girlfriend and I had a great time cooking with Chef Mathieu. You can tell immediately he has a passion for cooking and teaching others from his stories about his family, the industry, and teaching people from all age groups. He was patient and thorough with instructions, and always explained why we were doing things which helps you appreciate the final product more. He's also a fun guy to be around. Always cracking jokes and laughing, making us feel very comfortable in his home.
