Cooking Class - Asian Streetfood Feast

Chef Akshay invited us into his beautiful home with his amazingly renovated kitchen for his masterclass. You can tell right away how much passion Chef Akshay has for cooking when talking to him. The Asian Streetfood was so good that we made it the following night following his tips and recipes. Definitely recommend!

I gave this as a part of a birthday gift for my best friend. The house is lovely, clean and organized. He’s fully set up. We learned a few tricks of the trade when it comes to the perfection of the dumpling. He’s extremely knowledgeable, friendly in hospitable. We brought wine, to have with a meal, which was absolutely delicious. Might I add perfectly steamed. We were the only two in the class. Which worked out great for us. It was more like a private class. His timing is excellent, and you do not feel rushed. There’s plenty of time in the handouts to take home for future dumpling making was extremely helpful. Definitely looking forward to another cooking class with Akshay. I highly recommend him!!!

We made four amazing dishes including butter chicken! Chef met our dietary needs and it was a wonderful evening!

We cooked Sensational Handcrafted Dim Sum. From the very beginning we got greeted by chef Akshay we went to wash our hands and came to the kitchen. From the very start, you can tell that the chef takes pride and what he does. Everything was prepped in the fridge two hours before we came measured and just to the right serving portions. We started cutting the ingredients prepping they tofu and mushroom wontons. Then we started making chicken shumai and shrimp Cheung fun. And finished off the master class with chocolate spring rolls, which was amazing.

The Chef was absolutely wonderful! We could have sat there for hours talking to him! He was a wealth of knowledge and a breath of fresh air! Will definitely use him again.

This was an excellent experience. Chef Akshay was unavailable but was able to send a member of his team (we agreed on this in advance during the booking process). The class was educational and the meal turned out great! Everyone had a fun time.

Chef Akshay is patient and able to teach new and more experienced cooks with ease. Good rapport and great food. The ice cream with jalapeños was the best!

My girlfriend and I wanted to do a cooking class to change up the usual pace of eating out. As we love Mexican cuisine, we found that Chef Akshay is experienced in this cuisine among others. Chef Akshay welcomed us into his home where we exchanged stories and love for cuisine. The ingredients were very fresh and the food was wonderful. Chef Akshay was a phenomenal teacher and host. We are two beginners in the kitchen who were hoping to learn some new recipes. Chef Akshay’s “Indian Flavor Excursion” class far exceeded our expectations! From the first minute, he made us feel welcome not only as learners but as guests in his home kitchen. We learned several fantastic recipes which were so delicious that we can't wait to make them again at home! In addition to teaching us the recipes, Chef Akshay was eager to teach fundamentals of cooking as well. We learned things ranging from new knife skills to pearls for being more efficient in the kitchen. One moment from the class that really stood out was when he led us through an exercise in mindfully tasting the food during the cooking process to decide how to optimize the dish’s flavour. It felt like a Eureka moment for us novices in the kitchen. Chef Akshay is passionate about cooking and teaching, and this is evident in his class. I strongly recommend his classes; we will certainly be signing up for another one with him!

Our experience was amazing!!!! I had purchased this as a gift for my granddaughter that gave us something to do together and we both loved it!!!!! She actually phoned me from the grocery store on Sunday to let me know she was picking up all the ingredients to cook the meal again for Sunday dinner. Needless to say I was very pleased that she enjoyed this so much and we hope to do this again sometime. The chef was also amazing not just his cooking/teaching but overall he was so much fun to be with – we had some pretty good laughs and he really made us feel at home as to be honest we were not sure what we were walking into. But we sure knew what we walked away from and it was fantastic and would highly recommend this to my friends and family.

Chef Akshay was great! I was concerned about what the set up would look like in a home kitchen but it was phenomenally done! We had an amazing time!!! Food was fantastic! Definitely plan on coming back with a bigger group!

Chef Akshay was educational and engaging. My family had a wonderful time and said they learned a lot about the flavours and how they work together. They also enjoyed the personal stories that added context and colour to the recipes and experience. It was a perfect Christmas/Birthday gift for my Dad and Brother.

Fun class, learned a lot!

My husband and I had a really fun time at this class! The instructions were easy to follow and Chef Akshay is such a humble and down to earth guy. We had a blast and would definitely do more classes with Chef Akshay in the future. The food was also absolutely delicious and we will definitely be attempting to recreate the menu at home. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Chef Akshay was great! So interactive, right amount of education and entertainment.

He walks into the session with a probe thermometer tugged to his jacket and says "Welcome to my masterclass" that is the moment you understand that its not just a class its a master's class. I follow him from his instagram and attended couple of sessions where he would make cooking so simple and elegant. His signature recipes are worth drooling and I am sure he would be very successful if he opens a restaurant in Toronto. I wish him good luck. Kudos to you chef Akshay.

A true hidden gem in Canada!!! I attended chef's masterclass cuisine of Dubai and I must tell you that it was way beyond my expectations. He got us even printed recipes and had stories to tell from all over the world. Such an insightful class that I have starting loving cooking again. All the recipes and methods were precise and he made sure that I learnt it right. :) Cant wait to try his other masterclasses.

One of the most innovative and happy chef I have ever come across. A true professional who ensures you lesrn while he demonstrates his skills. His cooking classes are a treat for all my friends. His knowledge of various cuisines and such a humble personality ensures that we come back for his culinary adventures. Attended last session as a part of world food in London and was a superhit as chef paired food with some great whiskies.
