What You'll Do

Learn how to craft four traditional courses inspired by Indian cuisine completely from scratch.

In this hands-on cooking class, Chef Avi will discuss the history of several classic Indian dishes as you create four courses using authentic ingredients, spices and techniques. Learn basic kitchen skills as well as professional techniques to produce mouthwatering Indian cuisine before enjoying your handcrafted meal.

Begin by preparing red lentil soup infused with bay leaves and cilantro, and onion dumplings from scratch made with chickpea flour, spinach and red lentils. For the entrée, Chef Avi will teach you how to make classic chicken tikka masala and mango rice pudding for dessert.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

We cooked: -Ghate Garam -Red Lentil Soup With mire poix, bay leaves, chicken broth and cilantro -Chicken Tikka Masala and Basmati Rice Pilaf With tomatoes, yogurt and spices -Mango Rice Pudding With milk, sugar and essences Chef Avi was excellent. He gave us a lot of information about knifes and cutting techniques, we learned about new vegetables that we didn’t know and had the chance to taste them. We also learned a lot about how to select vegetables and difference that we didn’t know (like the sex of peppers

Chef Avi was personable and a well of knowledge - he taught is a tonne or little tricks to improve the way we cook at home and provided a hands-on lesson in knife skills. The 4 course Indian meal was delicious and the entire experience was first rate. We would definitely do another event with Chef Avi!

The Masala chicken was amazing and the Rice pudding waff his grandmother's recipe and was the best I've ever had!
