What You'll Do

Experience Italian home cooking with handmade gnocchi, Zuppa Inglese, local wine and panoramic city views.

In this cooking class, you’ll experience the flavors of Northern Italy in the cozy setting of Chef Olga’s Bologna home, complete with beautiful panoramic views over the city rooftops.

Gather around a large traditional table and begin with a welcome aperitif before preparing two beloved classics of Italian home cooking: handmade potato gnocchi and traditional Zuppa Inglese, one of Emilia-Romagna’s most famous desserts. You’ll learn to make soft, delicate gnocchi from scratch using simple ingredients and time-honored family techniques. Then, turn your attention to Zuppa Inglese, a rich layered dessert made with custard cream, chocolate cream, sponge biscuits and Alchermes liqueur. Along the way, Chef Olga will share stories, traditions and little secrets of local cuisine.

At the end of the class, sit down to enjoy your handmade dishes with local wine and coffee while taking in the views and sharing good conversation in the warm atmosphere of an authentic Italian home.

Local wine and water are included to enjoy throughout the class.
