Cooking Class - Traditional Venezuelan Cuisine

It's a Latin American food-focused fiesta with everything from popular tequeños to flavor-packed arepas.

Chef Carlos is here to help you celebrate Latin American style by teaching you how to prepare an assortment of favorite Venezuelan dishes. He'll show you the easiest techniques for cooking up tequeños and arepas, as well as how to prepare delicious fillings for them.

In addition to a steak, chicken and avocado filling, you'll also make arepas stuffed with black beans and braised pork. Then, for the final portion of the class, you'll whip up a creamy Venezuelan flan known as quesillo.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Carlos was an incredible teacher! He was kind and funny and taught us so much along the way. I loved getting to learn more about cooking and specific things that I will use in future dishes and we ended up with a delicious dinner. Carlos was able to work well on the fly with food allergies and preferences and made us feel right at home.

Great teacher. Patient and educational. I loved the class. It would have been helpful to have a link on how to fry plantains since this was a new experience for me, and also that the mushrooms were going to be deep fried to make sure to have enough inexpensive oil on hand (not olive). Otherwise, I'd recommend this fun class.
