FAQs

How much does a private chef in Singapore cost?
You can expect the cost of a private chef for a dinner party to lie somewhere between S$77 ($59) and over S$130 ($100) per person. However, this is just a guide. The actual price you’ll pay can vary based on a few factors. For example, chefs in Geylang may charge different rates to those in Tiong Bahru. What’s more, experience prices are tiered based on group size, and high-demand dates like the Chinese New Year also tend to command higher prices. Check out the starting price on your chosen experience page to get a rough idea of what you’ll pay to rent a chef. Our helpful Concierge team is also availalbe for more in-depth assistance.
What is included when you hire a chef for the night?
When you book a private chef for a dinner party, you can expect them to take care of absolutely everything for you. No need to worry about grocery shopping and certainly no need to worry about cleaning up afterwards. Your chef will even bring along any specialized equipment required to prepare your chosen menu. All you need to do is specify your menu ahead of the date, and when the time comes, answer the door. From there, you can simply sit back, relax and enjoy the evening with your guests as your Singapore chef gets to work in your kitchen.
What are the most popular cuisines with private chef experiences?
If you’re planning to hire a chef for dinner, you’re probably wondering what cuisines you’ll get to choose from. You might be in the mood for authentic Japanese sushi, classic Chinese or Malay dishes or a full-course menu worthy of your favorite Michelin-star restaurant. When you hire an in-home chef, it’s all possible. And don’t worry, even if you can’t find a menu online that truly tempts your taste buds, your chef will gladly work with you to build one that does. Their goal is to provide a seamless and memorable experience for you and your guests, so if you have something specific in mind, just ask!
How do I hire a chef or rent a chef?
Finding chefs to cook at your home couldn’t be easier. The first thing you need to do is visit the Private Chef area of the Cozymeal website. From there, you can easily search by city to find chefs operating in your area. Once you’ve found a chef and a menu that appeals to your palate, all that’s left to do is set a date! Even if you can’t find an out-of-the-box private chef experience that matches what you have in mind, don’t worry. Just reach out to our helpful Concierge team and they’ll be delighted to help with alternative dates, menu customizations, pricing and more. Even if you’re struggling to find the perfect chefs to cook at your home, don’t worry. Just reach out to our helpful Concierge team and they’ll be delighted to assist with alternative dates, menu customizations, pricing and more.
How much should I tip my private chef?
If you’ve hired an in-home chef for a dinner party and want to know how much to tip, the amount is entirely down to your discretion. Just know that you are under no obligation whatsoever to give on. When you hire a chef, their goal is to provide a delicious and memorable experience for you and your guests, regardless of whether or not there’s a tip on the table. Of course, we understand if you’d still like to give one. Doing so is a wonderful way to thank your host for an unforgettable evening. If you would like to tip, again, the amount is up to you, but if you’re unsure, we usually recommend between 10% and 25% of the total experience cost.
Where do the experiences take place?
When you hire a chef for the night, the first thing they’ll ask is where you’d like the experience to take place. It could be at your home, in your vacation rental or at another hired venue. All that’s required for your chef to prepare your menu is a clean and functional kitchen in which to work. Provided that’s in place — and that the venue lies within their city location — they’ll gladly come to you, bringing with them all of the ingredients and equipment required to deliver an evening of relaxing culinary indulgence that your friends are bound to remember forever.
