You’ll braise short ribs with porter and honey, prepare creamy polenta and roast broccoli with walnuts and ricotta salata. For dessert, you’ll bake a warmly spiced pear cake. Chef Jaken or a resident chef will guide you through braising, roasting and baking while showing you how to build rich flavor across every course. This cooking class in The Woodlands is filled with practical techniques for creating hearty, satisfying meals at home.

Tea, coffee and water will be provided. Guests are welcome to bring non-alcoholic beverages.

This class is suitable for ages 14+ with an adult present. Children under 17 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Class price is per person.

Chef Jaken grew up surrounded by restaurants and bakeries before pursuing a formal education in culinary arts. His career has taken him through a diverse range of kitchens, from catering and hotels to food trucks, with experience preparing both German and Filipino cuisine. After working his way up to sous chef, he discovered a passion for culinary education and connecting directly with fellow food lovers. Chef Jaken brings his varied experience and approachable teaching style to hands-on classes designed to help guests learn new skills and enjoy cooking together.

peruvian dinner with chicken sish kabob, fresh salad, sticky rice and incredible desert. Delightful and fun experience to cook with chef and learn various Techniques.

Steak, fries, salad, creme brulee. Enjoyed making garlic aoili, compound butter, vinegrette salad dressing, and the brulee. This class was a gift certificate. I enjoyed it very much. Will most likely schedule another class in pastry making.

This was a lot of fun. Although I thought it was silly that they crowded us all together with another couple. It felt like too many cooks in the kitchen. And it wasn’t the romantic experience we were hoping for. Two table were empty and it would have been the same amount of food. A few more dirty dishes is all. The couple we were with felt the same way.
