The appetizer of the Mediterranean world, mezze, is an array of small plates that are perfect for the beginning of a meal, or as h'ordeuvres at a cocktail party. Chef Jillian has spent years cooking professionally and looks forward to teach you all of her secrets to creating the perfect mezze platter to impress your friends and family.
First, Chef Jillian will teach you how to make a creamy carrot hummus with za’atar spiced pita crisps. Next, you’ll learn how to make homemade falafel cakes paired with a lemon-buttermilk tahini sauce. Your third dish will be succulent chicken kebabs flavored with harissa and served alongside a mint-parsley chermoula. You’ll also serve up a fresh tabbouleh with butternut squash, cucumbers, pomegranate, and herbs. Finally, Chef Jillian will show you her recipe for roasted eggplant with whipped feta, honey, and sumac.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.
