Journey through the flavors of the Far East with Chef Grace.

Chinese cuisine is as much about heritage as it is about the meal itself. Having grown up in Shanghai, Chef Grace was heavily influenced by her country’s rich culture, which fostered her love of cooking.

The class begins with a quick lecture on Chinese culture, then begin by learning how to prepare tofu meatballs stuffed with shiitake mushrooms and crispy black wood ear mushrooms. For your second course, you will create hot and sour soup with egg, mushroom, pork and homemade stock that is sure to satisfy! Complete class by cooking up an amazing stir-fried dish.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Grace was great! She was attentive to our food preferences, which she confirmed before the meal. She instructed us in different techniques by showing briefly and then letting us practice by doing it ourselves. The food we made was delicious and we have many leftovers. Don’t forget to bring Tupperware!

Grace's place was easy to find, and she communicated the arrival and directions very well. Upon arriving, Grace offered us water and gave us a little background about herself and what we would be doing that evening. We then went into the kitchen and got right to work. There were (3) of us in our group. Grace would explain what we were doing and then one of us would jump in. Plenty of hands on cooking, which was nice because we actually made the food we ate. Grace was patient, funny, energetic, and informative. The tofu meatballs were my favorite, they were so good. Grace even offered us a beer or wine while we cooked, which was super nice. After the tofu appetizers, we made our shrimp stir fry and then our hot and sour soup. Then the 3 of us retired to the dining room for dinner. Everything tasted great! We had leftovers and Grace gave us a recyclable container to take everything home. Would definitely recommend. = )
