Young chefs learn essential baking skills in this four-day series.
In this four-day hands-on cooking series designed for ages 7-11, a talented chef instructor will introduce aspiring cooks to the delightful world of baking. Summer cooking classes build a sturdy foundation of basic kitchen skills such as food preparation and safety practices that young cooks can build upon throughout their lifetime. Each day, students will work together to make and decorate classic bakes such as crêpes, bread and cakes. Upon completing the series, each student will take home a printed menu and graduation certificate to celebrate their achievement.
Classes typically run for two to two and a half hours, unless specified otherwise. Group work is a key component; kids can expect to collaborate with four other students. The class involves standing, cooking and active participation throughout. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required and long hair should be securely tied back for safety. Please note that these are drop-off classes. Parents do not stay during the classes.
