Cooking Class - Vegan Heart-Healthy Salads

Learn to prepare a variety of vegan, nutrient-dense salads to improve heart health from trained nutritionist Chef Kristin.

In this vegan cooking class, Chef Kristin will teach you how to prepare a number of salads intended to improve heart health and clean your system. She'll start the meal with vegan cashew raw kale chips, calling upon kale's concentration of anti-cancer compounds. The first salad, made from burdock and carrot, will clean your liver, blood, and lungs, and it provides a tangy-savory hit from pickled plum and rice vinegar. Next you'll learn to make a quinoa-beet salad, which Chef Kristin created to include each of the most potent heart healthy ingredients. A raw kale salad with avocado will increase calcium, fiber, beta carotene, lutein, and anti-cancer compounds. You'll finish with a delicious fresh fruit pie, harnessing the power of nature's candy for a sweet finish.

Throughout the meal, Chef Kristin will teach you about the nutritional aspects of each dish and ingredient, so you will leave not only with new recipes (and a full stomach!) under your belt but the building blocks for creating your own heart healthy salads.

Chef Kristin is very knowledgeable about the health benefits of the ingredients she uses. I loved her dandelion pesto and her warm nectarine pie tasted like an orchard of happiness. I left feeling inspired by her use of unique and colorful ingredients. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a wholesome and refreshing meal!
